The only official way to obtain Simple Document Scanner is via the Google Play Store. Google Play is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The use of Google Play is subject to the Google Play Terms of Use and the Google Terms of Use. The content on Google Play (including Simple Document Scanner) is provided by Google Commerce Limited. If you download Simple Document Scanner via Google Play, you are entering into a separate contract with Google Commerce Limited in accordance with the Google Play Terms of Use. I have no influence on the data that may be collected in the process.
The app uses the Machine Learning Kit from Google. All processing of the input data (e.g. images, video, text) fully happens on-device, and ML Kit does not send that data to Google servers. The ML Kit APIs may contact Google servers from time to time in order to receive things like bug fixes, updated models and hardware accelerator compatibility information. The ML Kit APIs also send metrics about the performance and utilization of the APIs in the app to Google. Google uses this metrics data to measure performance, debug, maintain and improve the APIs, and detect misuse or abuse, as further described in the Google Privacy Policy.
In order to ensure the operation, security, functionality and performance of Simple Document Scanner, I may collect and process certain data for diagnostics, operation, development and maintenance purposes. This may include information about your device, app usage patterns, error logs, and other technical data. The data collected does not allow any identification of individual persons, is handled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and is not used for any purpose other than that stated.
The transfer of data between the app and external servers for the above-mentioned purposes is encrypted and takes place in accordance with current technical standards.
